Artificial Intelligence has been huge within the last few years. It’s incredible for writing, creating art, illustrations, music, and sound. Practically anything can be created with AI and it’s great to see this upcoming tool grow stronger and stronger. Of course, it wouldn’t be long until big tech brands started jumping onto the AI trend to simplify their smartphone experiences for users. Apple, the leading smartphone tech company, are ironically the last to jump onto the AI trend. Finally, their tool, Apple Intelligence (Apple Ai) has been announced.
By the end of 2024, Apple Ai will officially become available for all iPhone users, so we are here to explain its tech to give you a better understanding. Let’s get into it.

What does Apple AI actually do?
The first wave of Apple Ai will hit around October 28th, 2024, for international countries on iPhone, iPad and Mac. Then, a couple of months later in December, Apple Ai will officially release in the UK on these same devices too. Apple Ai will be integrated automatically into the iOS 18 updates for the devices, so external downloading won’t be necessary. Some key features include translation, language skills, photo editing and more. We have listed them below:
What are the new Apple AI features?
- Writing tools
- Enhanced language capabilities
- Summarise text
- Prioritise notifications
- Minimise distractions
- Filter mail
- Smart reply
- Genmoji
- Image Playground App
- Image Wand
- Search in photos and videos
- Clean up
- Personalised Siri
The overall aim of Apple Ai is to simplify the user's life and mobile experience. We cannot wait to see this tech when it's officially available worldwide! Apple are slightly behind in the artificial intelligence trend considering Samsung released their AI in January 2024, Google released theirs back in March 2023 and the original concept (ChatGPT) was released in 2022! Apple has a lot of catching up to do to ensure they are on top of the AI game.
Will Apple AI use ChatGPT?
The popular and original AI writing tool, ChatGPT, has been incorporated into Siri and the Writing Tools in Apple AI meaning you don’t need to jump between tools when using the features. Siri automatically taps into ChatGPT when certain requests are made and helps to create original content from scratch in Writing Tools.
One positive is that the user can control when ChatGPT is used meaning you don’t have to use it in your writing if you’re not keen on it. Plus, users don’t need a ChatGPT account to use its features in Apple AI, it's completely free!

- iPhone 15 Pro
- iPad Pro

Conclusion:
What do you think about Apple AI? At Envirofone, we cannot wait to see this tech breakthrough become available. Apple always manages to succeed in their big projects, and considering they cancelled their infamous Apple Car and Apple Robot project to completely focus on Apple Ai, we hope it’s certainly worth it.
One thing we are slightly upset with is that the tool is only available on certain models not all of them. In comparison to Samsung, they ensured once the initial release was made and successful, they put the tool onto all their prior phones. Something they made sure to notify users about BEFORE Galaxy Ai was released. It’s a shame Apple hasn’t done the same.
